Worst bank ever. I opened a sml business account and it was costing me money. I closed account and was charged another 200.00 to close the account. I will never ever again deal with this bank. Terrible customer service to boot. I lost over 300 in 2 months. Watch those fees ppl. Scammers

Clueless tellers. I was trying to send an wire and was refused because the recipient's bank account number was preceded by two letters. She told me bank account numbers don't have letters in front of them"A simple Google search says otherwise. Literally all of Europe uses country codes for their IBAN formats!!Please train your tellers properly. She didn't bother asking another teller or look into the issue at all."

Worst customer service EVER today. I usually have no issues at this branch. I guess I got the wrong teller. Rude, dismissive and condescending. For the first time in 12 years of banking with Scotia I was treated like a second class citizen. The teller practically blamed me for my bankcard being stolen in 2019 when fraudulent activity happened on my account. Told me there has always been a hold on my account and always will be. First time I heard of any of this ridiculous was today

I have been unhappy with this branch of Scotiabank since it opened. Its location is wrong and it is difficult to access without a vehicle. Not close to bus stops either. This is not a friendly branch either.I have just completed one loan on March 15, 2023. This has been a 5 year loan, with automatic payments coming from another bank. The very last payment, on March 15, 2023, was not taken out of the bank for some reason and I cannot find out why this did not take place - there was money in the account!I have received many phone calls from the branch regarding this (unknown) lack of payment. The 1st person I spoke with had a very heavy accent and I could not understand what was being said.I went into the bank and was told I owed $4.12, which I paid and have the receipt. Now, I have received letters from the Director, Unsecured Lending, stating that I owe $4.13. WHAT IS WROG WITH THIS BANK. I signed the letter of release for the Assistant Manager for the insurance that I had placed on the loan, I have gone to their tellers, I have spoken with a Financial Advisor AND now I receive letters from Unsecured Lending. This is Harassment gram this bank!!! I amorally upset!!! Do you really think that I am going to drive to the North End of town to pay .01 cent? If you can't get your act together I seriously question staying with this bank.

Worst bank ever. Customer for 20 years, employed and legit... yet I go in there looking like a bum after work, suddenly my cheque being cashed was not good enough and limited my account access. Not recommended for anyone with brown skin or looking poor. This is the third time I've been burned by Scotia in the past year.... leaving for better bank

Horrible bank. Went in there to have a clients cheque certified (the cheque was written from this exact location). The teller had no clue how to certify a cheque and took 10 mins to get assistance, then I was told they couldn’t certify the cheque, (they implied the funds weren’t there) but I was pretty sure they didn’t want to certify it because they thought fraud? I had ID etc.. Still refused to certify and told me to get ahold of the client and have them call in. I went to the Scotia bank in Parksville and they certified the cheque without any questions. If there was a minus 1 star, that’s what I would be leaving..

Customer care classes and compassion training is needed for Trina the assistant branch manager. I needed to go into the branch on Friday and she demanded a senior customer “Roberta” stand outside in the cold wind “because the branch was at capacity”. This senior was standing behind me with plenty of room between us. We are all wearing a mask and there was more than enough room for her to be 6 feet away from anyone else. Instead of looking at this possibility she shooed this lady outside in the cold. Shame on you miss assistant branch manager.

The hours impossible to navigate. Other then taking a day off it's very difficult so bank at the branch. The persons that helped me when I did finally get in were lovely. Good individuals who work for a business with dumb hours.

I've been mostly happy to deal with all tellers. But, I don't recommend investing with financial advisers because some can't give you any proper advice and warning, and they don't care the clients' finance situation or money literacy.1. I did over-contribute to TFSA in 2013 because I invested, withdrew, and reinvested the same amount of money in TFSA for five months in the same year through the financial advisor, but she did not say anything. Four years later, I paid the penalty to CRA.2. The financial advisor bought the wrong fund. I purchased a mutual fund for the first time and ordered another by phone a few weeks later, but he rebought the same fund because he did not confirm with me.3. I made the mistake of buying the low interest of 1.45% and a five years no-redeem GIC of TFSA and RSP for the first time last year with the financial advisor, although I am a senior and a low-income family. So when I need some money, I can not withdraw my money the scotia bank, and I need to borrow money at 20% interest from Scotia bank. It's ridiculous!4. I almost made a mistake of over-contribution RSP last year.I knew that at tax filing. The financial advisor knew I was a low-income senior, but he did not care about my limitations.5. Neglect: I had a chance to talk with the manager. She told me I could send a petition by handwriting to the head office through the branch. So I wrote it and handed it to the associate, but I have not received any response over one month, and then, although I also sent an email to ask the manager directly, she has not replied either. Conclusion: Scotia bank will not be friendly and helpful to the people who lack confidence in money literacy.
